THIS MONTH
Clara loves:
-music
-pulling up on everything
-chewing
-plastic water bottles
-crawling
-crawling
-waiting for food. Seriously if takes more than 5 seconds for food to be put in her mouth she lets out this ear-splitting, shriek that is probably going to cause me to need hearing aids in the next 6 months.
Our big trip summer trip this year came in the middle of August. We packed up the car and drove the 8 hours from Knoxville to Wilmington, NC for a week at the beach. Clara did great in the car despite a hour long delay when a tractor trailer overturned. We drove to Raleigh and spent the night with a girl that used to baby sit my family when we lived in PA. Clara had a great time playing with their sons (and all of their toys).
I put Clara in the bouncer to see if she would like it....Lily decided
to make it a thrill ride and we promptly removed Clara
Sharing toys....and personal space.
The next day we got back in the car and drove to the beach. Because of Clara's nap schedule (morning and afternoon) she only went down to the beach 3 times while we were there. Of those 3 beach visits she spent approximately 85% of her time trying to eat fistfuls of sand and the other 15% of the time LOVING the water. She did get to play in a blow up pool on the porch of our house and go to the club playground right next door.
hanging out with her godmother
Nana, Pop and their granddaughters
a trip to the beach
conversations with a cousin (I can't tell if it's Hazel or Bea)
Clara's other big adventure this month was that she had tubes put in her ears after months of ear infections (not that you could tell....happy is pretty much her default setting). Clara did great before, during and after the surgery and since has become a lot more vocal.
playing/ waiting to be called back
She did great. I know I would not be
happy going that long before eating
Clara is still enjoying bath time. Mommy doesn't enjoy bath time as much because Clara poops in the tub at least once per week (usually when daddy is working late/ working nights).
