March Update (Lily 11, Clara 9)

Thank goodness for warmer weather here in Tennessee.....it goes perfectly with the puppy fever we have at our house. After CJ had to be put to sleep in September 2024 we knew we would be getting another dog eventually and we found 5 month old Penny at a shelter in Maryville. Other than adding a puppy to our family the girls finished up Basketball, went to an Ice Bears game, had dinner with their godfathers,  played with neighborhood kids a lot and started soccer practice. 

Lily March Update

It took Lily a few days to warm up to Penny. Having another dog in the house made her miss CJ and between her and her sister, it takes Lily a little longer to adjust to change. Lily had a great basketball season and can't wait to play again next year. Spring break consisted of a mix of time between the schools after school program, an art class and spending time with Nana and Pop.  In March she also started reading/ listening to the newest Hunger Games book. (Since it's just come out I'm taking it and reading it at night to stay ahead of where she is). 

Clara March Update

Clara came with me to meet and pick up Penny and then go on a trip to the pet store for all the puppy essentials. Clara finished up her basketball season and really wants to have her same coach next year. Last week I was able to go to Clara's 3rd grade art/science/career night. As of right now she wants to be an artist and made 2 clay pieces (a bowl and a bowl with a lid that has a Stitch model on top). We also got to meet a scientists that made Clara a "silver" penny and a "gold" penny using cool science stuff but since I never took a chemistry class I can't explain it to you.

Introducing Penny

Penny loves: laser pointers, chasing ice, blankets, fetch, chewing sticks, snuggling, collecting shoes,  mealtimes, belly rubs, treats and sometimes walks. 

Penny hates/ is scared of: cars, ducks, bikes, bunnies and strollers. 

In conclusion Penny is an adorably sweet pain in the butt. Don't let the pictures fool you she is all puppy. I only left out all the naughty stuff so I can remember why we got a puppy in the first place.

February Update (Lily 11, Clara 9)

 If I could choose any month of the year to skip it would be February. All the magic of the holiday season and my birthday is gone and at least in the south we're left cold weather, rain for days and mud....so much mud. Looking back I didn't take very many pictures this month but we have been hard at work "spring" cleaning the house. The girls helped me paint and reorganize my craft room and I painted their rooms. We did get a little snow in the middle of February but I was out of town for a girls weekend and therefore don't have any pictures to prove it. 

Lily February Update:

This month Lily finished up basketball. Lily even got sent to the freethrow line and put up some points for her team.....of course I was out of town and didn't see it. On Lily's bingo sheet of things to do this year she put that she wanted to learn to do fake (halloween) make-up. Which I should have remembered when she ran into the house yelling for me telling me she got hurt. She did not get hurt but with make up she gave herself a bloody nose and black eye. 

Clara Februrary Update:

This month Clara had a virus that took her down for a few days which resuted in 3 missed days of school home with Nana/Pop and 1 missed day at work with me (she says my work is boring). Clara has also finished up her basketball season and wants to play again next year. She didnt' make any baskets this season but did really well on defence. This year for book caracter day clara dressed as the book "Imogine's Antlers" (girl wakes up with antlers).
