At the McFalls house we are officially back in the swing of all things school related. Lily moved on to 4th grade at the intermediate school and Clara moved up to 3rd grade at the elementary school. While the girls were starting school their Maine cousins came to visit, and we got new neighbors.
Lily August Update
Lily was nervous to start 4th grade in a new school but did great. It helped that we had “locker night” where we met her teachers, learned her schedule, and decorated her locker (snake themed). Her favorite classes are reading and history...because she loves the musical Hamilton and they’re learning about the American Revolution. She doesn’t mind science but they’re “ugh.... learning about plants right now” which apparently Lily finds boring. Her least favorite subject is math. She is also excited that two of her friends are on her soccer team this season.
Lily Loves:
-quoting Hamilton lyrics, singing Hamilton, dancing along to Hamilton...etc.
-reading the Hunger Games (she’s on the 3rd book)
Clara’s August Update:
Clara walked into school the 1st day like she ruled the school. She loves her teacher and is always a little sad when it’s the weekend and she doesn’t get to see her friends. She was very excited that we have new neighbors who have an 8-year-old girl. According to Clara they are pretty much the same person because they “both smile the same and both love ice water”. Is that how to make friends? Have I been doing it wrong my whole life? Clara has gotten to cheer at a few pee-wee football games so far and it’s a fantastic way to get her energy out. We also celebrated Clara’s birthday with a family party (she wanted to wait until her cousins were in town).
Clara Loves:
-Her new neighbor friends
-Dr. Kitty Cat book series (it’s about a doctor who’s a kitty cat...I know you’re shocked).
