I am SOOOOO glad that January is over. Our house turned into a petri dish from Christmas to the beginning of February. Over Christmas Lily had a cough which she so generously shared with the rest of the family and her Nana. Her cough turned into walking pneumonia, Clara and Lily both got the flu (luckily their symptoms were very minor), Lily had a reaction to medication and I got a stomach bug. I am happy to report that our entire house had been doused in Lysol and thoroughly cleaned and sterilized....and I'm locking my family in one of those hamster ball things until cold and flu season is over.
Lily's January update:
Lily has gotten so sassy.....according to my mom she comes by it honestly. She still takes naps but they are occurring less often. Instead of napping she like to come "help" mommy workout....until mommy sets her up in the bonus room with a movie. Lily spends most of her day trying to negotiate every little thing I ask her to do....it's exhausting but hopefully it will help her become CEO one day. Lily loves Clara and pretty good at watching out for her. They do get into YES/NO fights occasionally. Oh you've never heard a yes/no fight? It goes something like this:

Clara's January update:
Clara is talking so much more and of course it is adorable when she mixes up words. She still wants to be just like Lily. She's not into watching TV or movies but loves to pull up a chair to our island counter and "help" me make meals. Her helping normally involves touching things, knocking over things or eating food off the plates. Clara constantly tells me that I am her momma....it always causes a fight when Lily tells her that I am her momma too.

What's Clara been saying:
-"Momma.....my momma"
-"ohhhhh......scare me"
-"Buggle Bum" (Bubble Gum)
Early on in the month we closed on our old house. We have so many good memories that house but we're glad to move on to this next chapter. We took the girls over the old house one weekend. I checked and cleaned the house, Andy cleaned out the garage and the girls played in the empty closets and kitchen cabinets.
Not long after we got a (very) little snow and headed outside to play. We found CJs foot prints and a cat's foot prints on our deck. It didn't take too long for the girls to get cold and want to come back inside.
Clara found a ride on toy left by the previous owners
Next came the tummy bug. Lily had a reaction to some medicine...I had food poisoning....we both felt horrible.
Clara felt fine
Then we got more snow....on the day we were supposed to close on our house. I had to get my knight in a shining Toyota Tundra to drive me to sign the papers since my van couldn't make it up the icy hill at the front of our neighborhood. The girls enjoyed playing outside in the snow with daddy.
pulling.....
Little sisters can be very heavy
MUSH CJ!!!!
next year maybe we will plan ahead a have a
rope for Lily to hold on to as well
Lily got dance lessons for Christmas from Santa and her lessons started this month. Lily's best friend is in the class and she LOVES it.
The first class Clara was upset that she had to stay home with daddy.....until she found out they were going to the neighborhood pizza place for dinner and then to get ice cream for dessert....needless to say she talked about pizza and ice cream with daddy for 2 weeks.
Clara came to the next dance class
Lily's godfather gave her a season pass to the children's museum in Knoxville. We headed there for Friday morning play time. The girls both really liked the arts and crafts section.
watch out world....Clara has scissors
Lily also had a dentist appointment this month and did great. She chose chocolate flavored polish when it was time to clean her teeth. Clara wanted to sit in the chair once Lily was done. She was a lot less sure about the dentist. Although she did like the treasure chest that she got to pick something out of.
