Life With a Baby on Board: March 2015

Lily is now 21lbs ad 8oz and 30.5in tall . We're transitioning from 2 to 1 naps during the day which makes for some interesting afternoons and I believe has correlated to mommy needing a cocktail after bedtime. Lily is talking more everyday and loves to copy us. She's a big fan of animal noises, our favorite are: Crab (pinch pinch with her fingers), alligator (clap), elephant and fish (blub blub). She's definitely trying to figure out her boundaries and see what she can get away with. In the past few days she has gotten in trouble for standing on the coffee table, throwing toys out of the bathtub, standing up on the changing table and trying to chew on the bottom of our shoes.

THIS MONTH:

Lily Loves:
-Ring Around the Rosy
-going for walks on our street (this usually involves Lily trying to run up everyone's driveway to bang on their garage doors)
-swinging and sliding
-putting on our shoes and trying to walk
-watching clips of movie musicals (her favorites include the Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain, Annie and the Sound of music)
-bubbles

Lily Hates:

-having something taken away

-being told no

Right after Lily turned 16 months we met some friends at Bounce USA in Powell, TN for a play date. I was a little nervous that Lily would get run over by the older kids. Luckily, there was a bounce area just for kids under 2 which Lily loved. Surprisingly, she also loved the really big slide that I had to go down with her.

I definitely got my workout in that day after carrying Lily up the slide.

Since the weather has been so nice we've been able to go for walks and to the playground up the road from us. After the winter we had Lily loves going outside.

We've decided to weaponize out toddler

My brother came into town so we went out to Maryville and got to enjoy the beautiful weather on my parents porch.

We came home from Maryville with a few more things for Lily courtesy of our family in Memphis. Now Lily has a new table and chair. She loves sitting (and sometimes standing) on the chairs.

Lily had another first this month that we knew was bound to happen at some point but we would have been willing to put off for a while......the E.R. I was walking CJ and pushing Lily in her stroller after work one afternoon. When we were done with our walk I pushed the stroller up our steep driveway, put the lock on the stroller and turned to punch in the code for the garage door. When I turned around Lily was halfway down the driveway. I went running after the stroller but didn't make it in time before the stroller flipped over. Lily had some scratches on her hands and nose and a huge knot on her forehead. After calling my mom and the pediatrician while unsuccessfully trying to hold a towel wrapped bag of frozen corn on Lily's head I decided to take her to the ER. Andy met us there and we were seen pretty quickly. We got to leave about 3 hours later with cleaned cuts and an OK from the doctor that she didn't have a concussion.
