We have just left a fun, whirlwind of a December behind us. Part of me is happy to be back to normal and the other half is missing having everyone together for the holidays. We started off the month with our annual cabin weekend with Andy's side of the family. The kids enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool, playing with their cousins and going on one of the mountain coasters near the cabin. When my side of the family came into town for Christmas we went to a basketball game, swimming, sledding and Dollywood (where in a weird turn of events we ran into Andy's brother and his family...clearly a crazy tolerance for cold weather runs in the McFalls family).
Lily's December Update
In December Lily started her basketball practice and is really enjoying it. She says she wants to back to trying acting (she saw the new Matilda movie) but I think we'll wait until she's done with the basketball season before we add something else. We started reading the 4th Harry Potter book when my nieces were in town (when I brought the book out they all screamed...Rachel got it on video). For Christmas Lily asked for legos and that's what she got....from everyone....she is so excited! You would think that this would keep Lily occupied for some time but you would be wrong. She will disappear to the basement to work on a lego set for hours and announce that she's completely done with the set. She asked me recently if there was a job she could get where she could build legos all day. So if anyone has any connections let me know.

Clara's December Update:
I was very proud of Clara this month when we did the mountain roller coaster. She rode with me and was crying on the way up to the first drop. That crying quickly turned to laughter when we started down. As soon as we got done the kids asked to go again (Clara included). With their after school program the girls went on a field trip to a reindeer farm. Clara was excited to go but disappointed that she didn't get to come home with her own live reindeer. Clara is now 7 years old with the sassy attitude to match.
This month Clara loves:
-Scrabble (complete with 1st grade spelling)
-playing outside when it's warm enough
