What a rollercoaster February was. The major event that overshadowed everything else was that Andy died early on February 10th. When he was moved to hospice at the end of January we were prepared but I know that everyone thought that we had more time. Again I would like to say thank you to every single person who brought us food, sent gifts for the girls, and came to sit with Andy so I would run errands. Looking back the girls testing positive for covid (without symptoms) was a blessing because it allowed for the 4 of us to spend time together. The ceremony and celebration of life were beautiful.
Overall in our house we're doing ok. We've been enjoying the food that arrives from the meal train nightly. We're gearing up to put our house on the market in the next few weeks but stay in the house until the end of May when Lily's school ends. We're going to be moving out to Maryville to be closer to my parents so they can help with school pick up and drop off. I know that it's a sellers market right now which bodes really well to sell our house but not so well for us buying a house...fingers crossed. For the new house the girls have requested a backyard big enough for the trampoline.
Lily Update:
Lily has dealt with Andy's death is more quiet/introverted way than Clara (which doesn't surprise me at all). While she has had a few rough nights she very rarely brings up Andy during the day. She has been having more anxiety arounds school and specifically taking tests. She has a weekly spelling test every Friday and she starts worrying about them on Monday. As of now Lily is used to the idea that we're moving but is very resistant to the idea that we will need to box up some things in her room to make it look less cluttered. She told me in her most dramatic voice (complete with fake tears) "Mommy it is VERY mean of you to say that my room is cluttered". I'm anticipating a full melt down when some of her stuff does get boxed up.

-the hamburgers that I make (we had hamburgers the other night and she asked if I made them. When I said "no" she said "good")
Clara Update:
The opposite of Lily, Clara has dealt with Andy's death by talking about it. She is always asking questions. We say good night to Daddy every night. She did ask at Andy's Celebration of Life ceremony if Daddy was going to be there because we said it was a party "for Daddy". Clara has taken moving in stride. She's fine with me packing up some of her toys and games as long as they aren't her Peppa Pig toys. She still loves gymnastics and has figured out how to do cartwheels and does them CONSTANTLY around the house.
