April (Lily 4, Clara 2)

This was a month of egg hunting, yard sales, Cinderella and sleepovers. The girls had so much fun this month and we're really enjoying the warmer weather.

Lily's April Update:
Other than at bedtime Lily is at a really fun age. She loves playing games and doing puzzles. She is starting to recognize some words and sound letters out (thanks Nana!). She loves swinging and has figured out how to pump her legs. She's eagerly waiting for the pool to open for the summer and she loves having 'pretend sleepovers' with her friends. In order to survive bedtime I've starting making up stories about a Princess Doctor named Julie who rides around her pet unicorn named Emily (Lily's really good at picking names).

Loves:
-trampoline
-yard sales
-hiding behind our bed
-putting on shows
-swinging

Hates:
-bedtime

What is Lily saying:
-Me "So during the summer when it gets hot out we need to drink lots of......."
Lily "blood."

Clara's April Update:

In the span of 5 minutes Clara will pretend to be a puppy, a kitty and a bug (its all the same movement of scooting on her knees). She loves school and when I ask her if she had a good day when I pick her up she will often say "yeah.....I didn't hit my fends today". She's doing better at potty training at school than she is at home. She prefers candy or gummies to baked goods and when Andy brought home doughnuts for breakfast one morning she asked for a waffle instead.

Loves:
-pretending to be a puppy or bug
-trampoline
-yard sales
-sunglasses
-her Cars pull-ups and PJs
-swinging

Hates:
-bedtime (notice how both girls hate bedtime.....that makes it so much fun for mommy)

What is Clara saying:
-"Yook at my peety toes" (I painted her toenails)
-"I a puppy"
-"Lily Ann Marley" (Lillian Maury)
-"Ba-mana" (banana)

We celebrated Easter with Andy's side of the family. We attended my mother-in-laws church and the girls sat with us instead of going to the nursery. They did fine (they aren't used the length of a Catholic service) until towards the end when Clara got antsy and Lily started doing interpretive dance to the hymns. Afterwards we headed to my mother-in-laws house for Easter lunch and an Easter egg hunt.

hey cousin

That next Friday we went to the Oak Ridge Children's Museum. The girls love the big doll house, the train exhibit and the water exhibit.

unfortunately I didn't bring a change of clothes

We spent one beautiful morning at the park near our house. The girls love to swing on any type of swing.

Saturday story time at the library is always a favorite.

I had to go to a conference in Nashville for a few days and before I left I asked the girls to each pick a small friend that I could take with me. Lily picked Smokey and Clara picked Big Bird. Smokey and Big Bird got into all kinds of shenanigans in Nashville and the girls liked seeing the pictures.

The day that I got back I took the girls to see the local high school's production of Cinderella. I was worried that they wouldn't sit still for it. They did fantastic! They sat through the entire 2 hour production. Clara keeps asking about "Cin-da-lella".

intermission complete with cupcakes.

We went to the zoo one Friday. The girls favorite exhibits were the tigers, gibbons and otters.

Lily's story from school: Once upon a time there was a beautiful
superhero named Lily that turned into a Princess -also turned into a frog
and the princess ran away. The End.

Lily hid under our bed.....while I was on the bed and I had no idea.
I swear she part cat.
