July marks the last full month for us since the girls go back to school at the beginning of August (crazy I know but they’ve been out of school since the middle of May). This month we went out on my parents boat several times, celebrated birthdays and the 4th of July and got our nails done before going on our big trip to the Bahamas.
Our Bahamas trip was 1 week of snorkeling, swimming, drinking fruity drinks (the adults) and Shirley Temples (the kids), shopping and the girls running around the island with their cousins. We had been practicing snorkeling at the pool for several months, however National Fitness Center ignored my request to put in a saltwater wave pool for them to get the full experience. Nevertheless, the girls did fine and got to see a lot of fish, starfish, stingrays and nurse sharks (from the dock).
Lily July Update
While we were in the Bahamas Lily enjoyed building sand “aquariums” for conch and starfish, swim up bars, floating in a tube, jumping off the boat, Guana beach and Nippers (she says she wants to work there when she grows up).
Lily did not enjoy the conch fritters, jelly fish, sea lice, taking showers every night, sunscreen or sunburns.
Clara July Update
In the Bahamas Clara loved building sand “aquariums”, taking pictures and videos with my underwater camera, Tahiti beach, driving the boat, looking for hermit crabs, Pete’s Pub, diving for starfish and playing spoons.
Clara did not like the heat, jelly fish, sea grass, waves making the boat rock, sunscreen, waiting to get in the water (safety first... the propeller needs to be off, and the boat must be anchored first.)
