September Update (Lily 7, Clara 5)

What did we do September? I honestly can’t remember...hold on let me go look at the pictures on my phone from the previous month....ok. We had some fun time and changes around our house. The girls were very excited to get a new playset (built by Pop and Nana) and Mommy is excited that the both know how to pump their legs to swing. Our small kitchen remodel is almost done (YAY for finally having an oven) and Lily got glasses. At the beginning of the month we were able to go on my parents' new pontoon boat and go to my work’s lake party. Football season has started and surprisingly I had to explain to the girls what tailgating is since they didn’t tailgate at all last year. Come on kids... you have no recollection of tailgating at all? You’ve been tailgating since you were a baby. The past few months we’ve also been reading chapter books (the 1st Boxcar Children book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Wizard of Oz, and the 1st and 2nd Harry potter books.

Lily September Update:

In mid-September I took Lily into the eye doctor and surprise (not really) she needs glasses. She was SO excited to pick them out and finally get them. I hope loving her glasses lasts longer than it did for me. By the way...if you see Lily act surprised that she got glasses because she wants to tell everyone herself. This month Lily started some anxiety medication. We’ve been gradually working up to her regular dose. When I ask her to rate her anxiety on a scale of she 1 to 10 consistently says that she’s at a 6-7 so we’ll see if that changes. We started having mommy sleep over night where one girl goes to a grandparent’s house and the other gets to have one on one time with mommy. Lily and I took CJ to scope out the Maryville dog park. Lily had a great time at my work’s lake party and spent 90% of her time either in the water... the only time she wasn’t in the water was when she was eating ice cream.

This month Lily loves:

-graphic novels (I don’t care what she reads as long as she’s reading)

-swimming

-her glasses

-paddle boarding

-falling off the tube while tubing

Clara September Update:

Clara loved the lake party as well. When we were about to leave, she told the doctor (who owns the lake house) that she had a great time. He told her she was welcome to come back and she said “how about tomorrow?” Clara is still loving gymnastics and doing flips everywhere. She has been saying that when gymnastics is over she wants to do tap. I haven’t told her that there is no set end date for gymnastics because I know that for right now gymnastics is what her body wants to do....no one does flips or cartwheels in tap. For Clara’s night with mommy we went to a new park. We’re using the “mommy sleepovers” as a chance to explore Maryville. This month Clara had her 1st sleepover with a friend at our house. She loved it.
