-Sitting with Daddy while I get dressed for work (even though she asks for "dada" 75,000 times per day while he's at work.)
Right after Lily turned 17 months we went to the Sigma Kappa alumni egg hunt with her friend Lolly. Luckily, Lily was WAY more interested in the eggs than the contents. Score!!! Candy for mommy and daddy!
The day after that Andy and I went on our monthly date to the aquarium in Gatlinburg and because we're such nice parents we brought Lily along. She loved the small fish but was less thrilled with the larger ones unless we were holding her.
shark high five
At the end of the visit we walked through the gift shop Lily found a big pink penguin and tried to escape. Good thing we stopped her at the door before she set off an alarm
The next weekend we celebrated Easter with my parents at our church then came home for lunch, opening her basket and hunting eggs.
That next weekend we carpooled to Dandridge, TN for a baby shower for one of my sorority sisters. It was 30-45 minutes away .....thank goodness for movies on the iPad. It was a beautiful day and Lilly and Lolly really enjoyed exploring and eating yummy treats. In case you're wondering Knoxville to Dandridge round trip is the length of Finding Nemo.
Right after the picture Lily hugged me around the knees and covered me in icing.
The next day Andy, Lily and I drove to Kingston to celebrate Easter with good food and an egg hunt. This marked Lily's 4th egg hunt and she's gotten pretty good at it....she's considering going pro.
batting practice with daddy
Lily and uncle Matt
I've got my eye on you Mamaw....don't try to swipe my egg.
The weekend after that we went to my sorority sister's son's first birthday at the Knoxville Zoo. After eating and playing in the birthday room we headed out to see some animals. It was pretty warm so a lot of the animals were napping .
"I've noticed that you have some redness in your bum area....
I can recommend a good diaper cream Mr. Baboon."
Last weekend Andy had to work so Lily and I went to a baby shower for a friend and then to the orange and white game with my parents. I think the orange and white game was a little overwhelming....every time the announcer would talk she would cry. Eventually she warmed up to the idea and enjoyed herself.
Reading with her Godfather, John at the baby shower.
We had to hold the chair down or it would fold up on her.
Here are some other pictures from this month:
Visiting Great-Grandma and feeing the ducks
Great Grandma has had these singing flowers for a very long time....
I'm so glad they get to be enjoyed by another generation.
Lily LOVES corn and this is her 1st time eating a whole ear
... unfortunately there were some pretty explosive digestive ramifications later.
Getting my diaper changed is so traumatic I need all my stuffed friends.
Story time at the library
watching Daddy mow
we discovered the sandbox
The whole time we looked at the sheep Lily yelled "BAAAA"
at them. It was like a toddler battle cry.
Pay no attention to that baby behind the curtain
She fell asleep on our walk....
and CJ is her guard dog.
