Here at the McFall's household we are eagerly awaiting spring. The girls are overjoyed every time it's warm enough to wear short sleeves. So far we've been to 2 Easter egg hunts and the girls have enjoyed both and a few family birthday parties. In March I put our house on the market on a Sunday and because the housing market is so crazy we had 11 showings and got 2 offers in one afternoon. Our house is now under contract and set to close in late May but the new owners are letting us stay in it until early June so that Lily can finish school. I also have a house under contract in Maryville. Let the packing commence. The girls are nervous but excited to move. We moved into our current house in 2017 when they were around 2 and 4 so Lily remembers is and Clara doesn't. They've asked me if we're bringing the toilets, light switches, Lily asked if she could have the same trash can in her new room (like I have so many places to put a hot pink trashcan).
The girls have enjoyed spending some time each weekend with their grandparents (my parent's and Andy's mom) and I enjoy a break. So far while visiting the grandparents the girls have: gone to the zoo, the pool, washed a boat, taken care of cows, gone ziplining, gone to bookstore, gone to a pet store (Lily brought home 18 pamphlets about different types of turtles) and had smores around the fire pit. I know they are enjoying themselves because when we facetime they don't want to talk to me for very long.
Lily's March Update:
Lily is a rock star at the monkey bars and climbing walls. She has requested a playset with monkey bars at the new house. Lily had a big first this month. She had her first sleepover at her BFFs house followed swiftly the next day by her first sleepover hangover. She had so much fun at the sleepover but I know she stayed up too late and ate some junk food (as you should at any good sleepover). When I went to pick her up she said her tummy hurt. After some meds she fell asleep on the bathroom floor for an hour and woke up and was completely fine (if only adult hangovers could be like that). Like learning to learning to read, riding a bike or walking into a room for something and not being able to remember what it was the sleepover hangover is part of growing up.
