November Update (Lily 11, Clara 8)

Like water going down the bathtub drain the we started off this month slowly and gradually picked up speed as we headed towards the holiday season. This month the girls finished up soccer, went to a cabin in the smokey’s with Andys side of the family, celebrated Lily’s birthday, went to a UT football game, decorated cookies and celebrated Thanksgiving with a delicious meal and a dip in a hot tub.

Lily Update:

We celebrated Lily’s 11th birthday with a friends party which included an escape room and a sleepover. We escaped the wild west themed escape room with 3 minutes to spare. The girls immediately asked if we could do another room so I think they enjoyed it. Lily also finished up her time with the Blue Sigma Sharks soccer team (don’t worry....I don’t understand it either). She had a great time and wants to play with the same coach in the spring.

Clara Update:

Clara finished up her undefeated soccer season with the Pink Panthers and is excited for basketball season to start. She spends most of her time playing with the next door  neighbors but has discovered a love of legos. Luckily she loves to build them, take them apart and rebuild them and Lily has loaned some of her smaller lego sets for Clara to construct.....and then deconstruct.

October Update (Lily 11, Clara 8)

Behold the spookiest of all seasons is upon us. It brings with it cooler weather (? it was here for like a week....where did it go?) , decorations, candy and costumes. This October marked the girls first ever trip apart. Lily went on a cruise with my parents and Clara and I went to Memphis. Clara is now eagerly awaiting her 10 year old trip with Nana and Pop.

Lilys October Update

Lily has been reading the Hunger Games series and decided to dress up at Katniss Everdeen for Halloween (complete with bow and arrows). Lily loved going on the cruise even though they had to change around their on shore days and miss Nassau, going to Haiti instead. She said her favorite things were the food and drinks, lazer tag, jet skiing, and the silent dance party. Two weeks before Halloween we met up with friends to carve pumpkins and Lily opted for a Hamilton pumpkin which I drew and she cut out.

Clara's October Update

When I first told Clara that it would be just us for fall break I told her we could do something. She excitedly asked if we could get our nails done. I said yes but you can think bigger than that. She said "Disney World" and I said "too big". She opted for a trip to Memphis so that she could go shopping with her great Aunt Anne. While we were there we also went to the zoo, got our nails done and went rock climbing.....she went rock climbing and I took pictures. This year for Halloween Clara dressed a cheerleader zombie and her pumpkin was carved to look like a cheerleader.
