November (Lily 5, Clara 2)

November was a busy month.....although all of our months tend to be busy. At the beginning of the month the girls stayed at my parents house while Andy and I attended a wedding in Atlanta. We had a great time and I don't think they girls even noticed we were gone. November had a lot of good food, friends and football. We went out to Maryville for Thanksgiving and spent several nights at Nana and Pops house.

Lily's November Update:

This month Lily really enjoyed Thanksgiving and all the food that went with it. Her favorite foods were turkey and sweet potatoes (more specifically the marshmallows that go on the sweet potatoes.) We went to Fantasy of Trees and both girls sat on Santa's lap. Lily has asked for a Barbie Dream Camper...Clara has asked for more pretend phones and more stuffed puppies.

Loves
-Rodgers and Hammerstein's Peter Pan and Cinderella
-Tiger Lily
-Santa
-old movies (so far she's watched The Secret Garden and a Fred Astair movie....can't remember the name of it)

Hates
-when Clara touches her, looks at her or talks at all but only on every 3rd Tuesday, when she's hangry, or mars is in retrograde.

What Lily is saying:
(while watching UT football) "They should pull off their helmets and kiss them.....that will kill them".

Clara's November Update:

When something happens that she doesn't like the most logical response that her toddler brain comes up with in to hit or throw something. For this reason Clara has become very familiar with the timeout spot this month. When Lily is watching TV and Clara wants to play with her Clara with go find the remote and turn the TV off.....of course this pisses Lily off and then inevitably WWIII starts in our house. Clara's favorite Thanksgiving food was stuffing and mashed potatoes.

Loves
-Santa
-homework (only because Lily has "homework" from daycare and heaven forbid she doesn't have something that Lily has. I told Lily's teacher about Clara's desire for homework so now she sends homework for Clara too.)
-reading books
-picking a random word that she heard one time and repeating 35,000 times...yesterday she walked around saying/ yelling the word "opinion".

Hates
-listening
-giving her sister any alone time

What is Clara saying
"Marc Conseco!" (Translation: "on your mark, get set, GO")

Daddy got to come to the Muse with us one rainy day. The girls loved it!!
Always fun times at the Muse

Lily and Daddy making pom pom monsters

Clara was a little more hesitant with the hammer. Lily hit the nail approx. 5 times
and the nail was completely in the wood.

A trip to Mars (according to Clara that's where Nana and Pop live)

Tailgating is always fun with friends

I got to go on a date morning with Lily. She got her hair cut. We went to the craft store and saw the new Grinch movie.

she looks so much older.

she loves getting her hair blow dried

We came home from Maryville and decorated for Christmas

October (Lily 5, Clara2)

We had a very busy October complete with soccer games, pumpkin patches, birthday parties, blessing of the animals at church, trips to the park, playdates, a puppy foster, tailgating, arts and crafts, seeing the musical Peter Pan, Frozen on Ice and ending with Halloween. Whew. I need a nap. The girls had a blast.

Lily's October Update:
Lily finished up playing soccer at the end of October. She loved it and has asked to play again in the spring (although she doesn't like to get sweaty). She got a medal that she has shown everyone that has come to our house. This year for Halloween she dressed up as Sleeping Beauty. She loved all things Halloween (carving pumpkins, candy, Halloween crafts, candy, decorating our house and of course candy. When we carved pumpkins she requested her pumpkin have angry heart eyes and a heart nose and vampire fangs.

Loves
-The Rodgers and Hammerstein version of Peter Pan. Her most requested songs are "I won't grow up" and "Ugh-A-Wug" (she calls it the friends song)
-tailgating
-soccer
-Halloween
-The Magic Treehouse books
-movie nights with Mommy

Hates
-when Clara tries to do her chores

What is Lily saying
"Mommy....does Captain Hook wear panties?"

Clara's October Update:
Yesterday Clara almost flooded the downstairs bathroom, I caught her standing on the kitchen table and got her head stuck climbing under the baby gate at the top of our stairs..... all this happened in about 10 minutes. Clara is going to be the death of me. Clara is snuggly, sweet, and silly....she is also sassy, sneaky, and stubborn. We're going to cross our fingers that those traits help her run a company one day and not a gang in a prison. Observation: 2-3 year olds are the Honeybadger of the child world.

Clara was a reluctant Trick-or -Treater. She is shy about talking in front of new people and it was an entire night of talking to new people. At one house they asked her if she wanted candy and she said "No" and walked away. This year Clara dressed up as Thomas the Train. When we carved pumpkins Clara quickly lost interest and didn't care so mommy got to pick...she seemed happy with the ending result.

Loves
-the Rodgers and Hammerstein version of Peter Pan. Her most requested songs are "I won't grow up" (she calls it "Not Me") and "Hook's Tarantella" (she calls it "to the ship")
-gummies
- playing pretend (the latest game is that she's the mommy and everyone else in the room are her kids that she is dropping off at daycare....she says goodbye, walks out of the room, waits 3 1/3 seconds, walks back in the room and says she back to pick us up from daycare...repeat 75,000 times).

Hates
-getting dressed after bath time
-being woken up
-when she doesn't get "homework" from school.... I will be reminding her of this when she's in high school.

What is Clara saying
"Mommy....do bumblebees wear panties?" (I don't know what it was with panties this month.

Lily loved soccer and wants to play again in the spring.
