March proved to be a very busy month. We had family visit, parties to attend, playdates, dance class and Easter egg hunts. The girls have enjoyed the warmer weather (although we did have some snow in there as well). I'm enjoying the fact that we don't have piles of coats, scarves, hats etc around the house. Life as a parent is so much easier in the summer.
Lily's March Update:
Lily enjoys putting on a show for anyone and everyone provided they sit still for a few minutes. The shows usually consist of a costume, interpretive dance, and an improvised song and will last anywhere from 2- 20 minutes. She loves spending time outside but hates bugs. After being stung by that wasp on Thanksgiving day I can't say I blame her. Any bug that lands on her is cause for freaking out....it's gonna be a fun summer.
Loves:
-roller skating
-taking baths in mommy and daddy's big tub
-putting on shows
Hates:
bugs
Favorite books:
-Rumpelstiltskin
-Fancy Nancy
What Lily's been saying:
-"I'M DYYYYYYYYYING" (said during a meltdown, she may have been a little over dramatic)
-"How to babies come out of tummys?" (Lucky for me she hasn't asked how they get into the tummy)
-"Spac-alata"= Spatula
Clara's March Update:
Clara gallops everywhere. Does she love horses? Is she going to take up horseback riding? Is she preparing for a roll in a Monty Python and the Holy Grail reboot? (Anyone have any coconut halves I could borrow?) I don't know but it's adorable. We tried to start potty training this month and Clara was doing a great job until she decided that potty training wasn't for her just refused to go anymore. We backtracked into pull-ups and now she's getting better about telling us when she needs to go. Clara likes to play pretend. Pretending to make us food, pretending to take care of baby dolls...etc. My favorite is when she pretends to clean.
Clara: "Mommy my use squirt bottle? clean?"
Me "Sure Clara you can pretend"
Clara (pretends to squirt cleaner on the table while saying) "pretend, pretend, pretend" instead of making a squirting sound.
Loves:
-pretending to be a bug (crawling on the ground)
-galloping everywhere
-swings and slides
-pretending
-making us order food, pretending to make it and then never brining it to us.
Hates:
-Have accidents in her underwear
-loud noises
-cars in parking lots
Favorite books:
-Quick as a Cricket
-The Gruffalo
-Read to Tiger
What Clara is saying:
-Me "Is my ice cream ready yet?"
Clara "Not quite......one second"
-"Tumtacks"= Contacts (lead to a very confusing discussion when the girls were saying that the assistant director at their school puts "tumtacks" in her eyes).
-"Flaler undies" = flower undies"
-"Mommy you paint my foot nails?" (toe nails)
-"Mommy you paint my foot nails?" (toe nails)
At the beginning of the month Lily did a "pretend sleepover" at a friends house and I met Andy and Clara for dinner.
Don't take my food Daddy
My dad and I took Lily to see the Wizard of Oz. She had no idea until we got there. Even after we took this pictures she still though we were seeing the movie.
My aunt, uncle, cousins and 2nd cousins came to visit. We took them with us for one of our favorite activities....gymnastics.
We also did a playdate with some of the neighbors. Between the 4 families that were able to come to the playdate there were 6 little girls between the ages of 2 and 4. Lily and Clara had a blast.
The next day we took the girls bowling. Neither girl had ever gone before and had a blast. We went with some friends that have girls Lily and Clara's ages. The girls played against the dads......the girls won (with the aid of the bumpers).
We also made another trip to the MUSE. Which guarantees at least 1 1/2 hours of child entertainment and a 3 hour post entertainment nap.

One Saturday we had 2 birthday parties. Rapunzel came to one of the parties and did a craft with the kids.

The next day we had two Easter egg hunts. The first was at church and the second was a neighborhood hunt. At the neighborhood hunt the girls collected (empty) eggs and turned them in for prizes.
"Mom what the heck kind of chicken laid this egg?"

The next weekend we went to the local high school for an Easter egg hunt and fair. We LOVE the high school because they put on so many events for the younger kids in the community (pancake breakfast with Santa, trick or treating, father/ daughter dance for valentines day and a community fair during the summer). There were so many kids there that the egg hunt part of the morning was a bust but the girls had fun playing games and making crafts.
