New Year new us.... right? Right? Ok so not really new us that’s too much a stretch. After the holiday season its more like the New Year... sugar filled, tinsel decorated, unaware of what day it is....us. The girls and I have gotten back in the swing of things with school and basketball schedules. The girls first game was snowed out but their other games have gone great...some wins and some losses for each team. Other fun things this month have included painting the craft room in the basement (me and Lily), dressing up as Annie Oakley (Clara) and watching Clara cheer at the halftime of a high school basketball game.
We each have also created at New Years resolutions bingo card with thing we want to do this year. Mine include: read 40 books, paint the basement, find 5 new recipes that the girls actually like and learn to juggle.
Lily January Update:
This month Lily has discovered the joy of Netfix/ Disney tv shows...she previously only would watch movies. Lily has decided that she loves the shows Wednesday and Once Upon a Time. Although she did get very mad at me when a character died at the end of the episode and I wouldn’t let her watch the next episode because it was time for bed. I reminded her that when I first watched Once Upon a Time it came on weekly so we would have to wait a whole 7 days to watch the next episode. (I believe since I am now 40 I should insert a “kids these days” here). Lilys bingo card includes: read 5 books, rewatch the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies, learn to do balloon animals and learn to do the Wednesday Addams dance.
Clara January Update:
Clara’s big project for school this past month was her biography project. She chose Annie Oakley and was thrilled to dress up like her. After being disappointed that she couldn’t bring a plastic gun to school we compromised and made her a 2D gun out of cardboard. The rest of her outfit was rounded out by a cow girl hat from our trip to Cody Wy/ Yellowstone, cowboy boots and a belt buckle from my dads time working as a drug rep for cows. Clara’s bingo card includes: make mommy dinner, paint my bookcase, do 5 new art projects, make 5 freethrows and learn to do an aerial.
