April Update (Lily 8, Clara 6)

This month we have really enjoyed the nicer weather. We attended several Easter egg hunts, an Easter eve Church service, play dates with school friends and an event for Girl Scouts called World Thinking Day. We're gearing up for the end of the school year (I can't believe it's here already) and the start of the summer.

Lily's April Update
This month Lily has become a complete bookworm. She has sped through books (and AR tests) at warp speed. Her favorite books are graphic novels (Dog Man, Babysitters Club Little Sisters, PopularMMO's, and the Lunch Lady series just to name a few). This has probably been helped out by the fact that I banned iPads during the week and now they only get them on the weekend (insert diabolical mom laughter her)e. They can still watch TV but it's much easier to monitor/ control TV screen time. Lily has decided, after playing volleyball with Andy's side of the family, that she wants to play Volleyball as well as basketball. I hope she's not too disappointed that actual volleyball doesn't resemble what we were playing very closely.

Said by Lily this month:
"Mommy are you reading Julio and Romiette?"
"Mommy can we play the game where we extract the bones from the mans body? I like to use the word extract." (game =operation).

Clara April Update

You guys I finally figured it out!!! I solved the puzzle....what puzzle you ask. The "Clara non-stop talking, singing and making noise Puzzle"! I have a pair of bone conduction headphones (because yay Audiology) and Clara asked if she could wear them. If you don't have a clue what bone conduction headphones are. They are headphones that don't cover your ears but hook over your ears and you can still hear the music. It kinda looks like someone wearing sunglasses on the back of their head. Anyway I put them on Clara and she was quiet for an hour. I guess one of the reasons she talks is to get constant auditory input. Now I just must resist the urge to have her wear it non stop (joking). This month Clara is loving the Piggie and Elephant books by Mo Williams, doing gymnastics in spaces too small for gymnastics and cuddling while watching TV.
