September (Lily 4, Clara 2)

Lily's September Update:

Lily started soccer this month. Up until the time she got to the soccer field she was nervous. Since she under 5 her team practices for 30 minutes and plays for 30 minutes on Saturday mornings. She ran exactly 1 drill with her team before she yelled over to be that soccer was fun and gave me a thumbs up. The rest of practice went off without a hitch and the game started. Let me just say that Andy and I both played soccer for years and years. I vividly remember my dad standing on the sidelines yelling at me to be more aggressive and go after the ball. Lily does NOT have that problem. After she came out of the game for some water she told me that she "knocked someone down". In her second game she scored 3 goals and no matter how hot and tired she is she always ready to get back in the game. (She definitely got that from Andy). Her soccer season goes until the end of October and I'm excited to see what she wants to try next.

What's Lily saying
-"I'm allergic to salamanders...(sigh)….but I never met one"
-Lily "Mommy I think I'm pregnant"
Me "Why do you think that Lily?"
Lily "Because I heard that word before."
Me "Do you also think you're a hypochondriac?"
Lily "Yep"

Clara September Update

Clara has definitely entered the three-nager phase early. She loves playing dress up and pretend with Lily. They played in one of those collapsible play tube things for 45 minutes. Whenever they play its like watching a natural disaster blockbuster. There is always a dramatic event that is going to occur but that hasn't occurred yet. For example, when they played for 45 minutes I kept hearing "Hurry, we have to hurry and get the babies inside....it's going to rain soon. Get the babies out of the rain quick". Clara still loves cars, trucks and trains. When I went to a consignment sale recently I got the majority of t-shirts and PJs for Clara from the boys section. She keeps requesting pink and purple shirts that have Thomas, trucks and the characters from the Cars movies but I haven't been able to find one yet without paying an arm and a leg.

What's Clara saying
-"My baby is allergic to power lines".
-"Peanuts are allergic to me and my baby."

Lily plays on a team with 5 other kids. Some weeks they're red and others they're blue. It's pretty fun and entertaining to watch. After the fist game the coaches told them to line up to give high 5s and say "good game" hilarity ensued because the kids had no clue what the coaches were talking about.

the pink ball and pink shin guards are a must

She wanted to play tea party while Lily's game was going on

At soccer games Clara already has the part of the bored little sister down pat

One of the perks of Clara not napping anymore is afternoon trips to the zoo.

Dinner with the neighbors and the night the girls learned to drive.

Puppy update: As of this posting the mommy dog (Zoe) and 5 out of the 8 puppies have been adopted and I no longer have to spend hours cleaning up after puppies!! I've become facebook friends with some of their owners so we can watch the puppies grow up.
