December was so much fun. Lily is now 20lbs and 29in long. Lily is walking all over the place and starting to talk. She can say "thank you", "mama", "dada", "Ho Ho" (Santa) and "sit" and can sign "more", "please" and "touchdown".

-hijacking my iPad while we're skyping with someone (she carries it away laughing like a Disney villain)
-feeding CJ
-playing tug-of-war with CJ (he always lets her win)

The first part of December was very relaxing. We didn't do much except try to conserve our energy for the last part of the month. Lily and I went to my mother-in-law's work Christmas party and Lily got her picture taken with Santa (thank goodness without tears).
Unfortunately Andy had to work on Christmas Eve so Lily, CJ and I headed out to Maryville. That night we went to my parent's church for the Christmas pageant service. Their Christmas pageant requires "audience participation" and is put on like a play. As the story is told people are selected from the congregation to participate. My brother was a bird (complete with a hat and feathered boa) and my dad was a tree (holding branches...swaying in the breeze). Lily and I were angels (I wore the wings, Lily wore the Halo and there was arm flapping involved). When we got to the front of the church everyone said "awwww"....Lily was so cute. We came home from church and had Christmas dinner, I put Lily to bed and we watched "A Christmas Story".

Too much Christmas cheer??
The next morning Andy got off work, drove out to Maryville and went to sleep. While he was sleeping and Lily was taking her morning nap Santa arrived and delivered our presents. At 1pm Andy and Lily woke up and we opened presents. Lily had a blast opening presents but wasn't happy that we wouldn't open all her toys right then and there so she could distribute them evenly around my parent's house.

The next day we piled in the car and caravanned over to Memphis with my parents to visit family. The last time we were in Memphis was in June for my grandmothers funeral. Since then my aunt and uncle purchased my grandma's house they have been making updates to the kitchen and master bed/bath. While driving to Memphis I was worried I would be sad to see changes made to Gran's house but all of the updates were beautiful and while they were more modern they still fit in with the rest of the house.

Lily enjoyed exploring the house, looking at the HUGE blow up "Ho Ho" in the front yard, playing the piano and playing with her second cousins. Unfortunately, it was too cold and rainy for the zoo or other outdoor outings but we were able to have brunch with one of my friends from grad school, her husband and daughter. We'll have to plan a trip to Memphis during the spring or summer because I know Lily would LOVE the zoo.
Since childcare was readily available Andy and I were able to go downtown for lunch and shopping one day and out to dinner at Buckley's the next night (YUM!!!!!).
In other family news my dad's mom will be moving to Maryville in the spring. We are beyond excited to see a lot more of Grandma (and the family members that visit her).
