April Update (Lily 11, Clara 9

Happy Spring Y’all!! Yippee for warmer weather… boo for all the rain in East Tennessee lately. Unsurprisingly a lot of our activities have revolved around Penny the puppy. Walking Penny, feeding Penny, taking Penny to the dog park, playing fetch with Penny…all with the faint hope that she will not eat our shoes or play keep away with our stuff. In the meantime, the girls have learned to close their bedroom doors. We got Penny’s DNA test results back and she is mostly Lab and Pitt bull like we thought but we were surprised to find out that she has some Siberian husky and American bulldog in there too.  In other news the three of us have started taking boxing classes in Maryville. While I doubt we’ll be in the ring any time soon it is a lot of fun.

Lily’s April Update:

I can say without a doubt that this month Lily’s favorite thing was getting to see Hamilton in Chattanooga. She wore her cat shirt that said “Pardon me. Are you Aaron Purr, Sir?” and only sang along a little bit. Other than that Lily is counting down the days left of school and is ready to finish up her 4th grade year. We only have a few games left for soccer season and Lily is doing great! While I’m taking boxing for the upper body/ cardio workout I’m pretty sure Lily just like taking any anxiety/frustration out on a punching bag.

Clara’s April Update:

This month Clara had a lot of events with her school’s choir. She was asked to participate in the yearly Spring Sing performance (a few students from each elementary and intermediate school in Maryville). Her choir was also able to sing the national anthem at a Maryville High School baseball game. Clara has been spending a lot of time playing with the neighbor kids. They have built an enormous fort in the basement which I believe includes their own individual room, a craft room, a snack station, and a music room.
