May Update (Lily 8, Clara 6)

We really ended the girls school year with a bang. In the past month we've celebrated mother's day and my dad's birthday, gone to an end of the year music performance for Clara, traveled for a weekend to Chattanooga, gone to the pool, neighborhood celebration and out on the boat. On a completely unrelated note I need a month to get over May. The girls really enjoyed Chattanooga we went to the aquarium, the children's museum and rock climbing where the girls climbed so much they got blisters on their fingers. The girls were far better climbers than I. I'll leave the rock walls to them in the future.

Lily May Update:

Lily has become a reading fiend. She loves the Baby Sitters Club, Dogman and any other graphic novels she can get her hands on.  Her favorite activities in Chattanooga were touching a stingray, playing in the water feature outside the aquarium, rock climbing and doing sewing projects at the children's museum. Lily did get in trouble this month by throwing water on another kid at the after school program. She was so incredibly upset when she got in trouble that I didn't have to punish her....I know it's something that won't be repeated. Lily is not enjoying summer school so far (only 2 weeks left) and I know she is jealous of Clara who gets to go on a few field trips. At the neighborhood party Lily learned to play ladder ball and loved it. I love how excited and proud she gets when she tries something new and rocks it.

Lily loves:
The Sound of Music
ladder ball
graphic novels
summer

Lily doesn't like:
summer school

Clara May Update:

Clara is still doing cartwheels, round offs, handstands and splits constantly. She was asked to move up to the next level in gymnastics this month.  To finish off the school year Kindergarten had a musical performance. Clara's class sang "Teddy bear teddy bear" while Clara accompanied them on a big wooden xylophone thing (which is what I googled to find a picture of it). Clara LOVED her kindergarten teacher and class. She's very excited to be going to the 1st grade next year. In Chattanooga Clara's favorite activities were making friends with a penguin and alligator, climbing to the very top of some of the rock walls and painting at the children's museum.
